Pedagogy

Kindergarten

Children are the future of our society,

therefore, it is important to give them the best development from the beginning. 

 

We align our education with the two pedagogical concepts of Loris Malaguzzi and Talcott Parsons (Reggio and Inclusion Pedagogy). Thereby, we want to create a continuous offer with which we enable all children to experience a holistic development. Accordingly, on the one hand, we follow the approach of the free and individual development of our children's personality. On the other hand, we are convinced that all children, with and without disabilities, can learn from each other. 

Pre-School 

The child’s first school experience is one of the most important ones, so our teachers ensure to provide a fun, warm, and safe environment for your child to learn. The objectives for each child are determined and adapted individually and are based on the observation of the child's progress.

 

A special focus is placed on the following areas of competence which are of fundamental importance for good learning development:

 

  • Ability to concentrate

  • Communication skills

  • Social competence and the ability to cooperate

  • Psychomotor and learning method skills

Bilingual Upbringing

 

Bilingual upbringing not only helps children to learn languages easier at school but prepares them for the encounter of different cultures. Furthermore,  it strengthens their ability to overcome language barriers. Therefore, at JIL-EMOCHI children receive a bilingual educational programme and learn Portuguese and English in addition to their mother tongue Shangana.
